Role:Buyer - Beauty Gifts
Salary:£25,000- £27,000

Our client is an award winning company operating in the beauty sector based in stylish offices that house a team of talent that has made this company the success it is.


They are looking for a Buyer or Junior Buyer ready for that next step up.  And you will be stepping up your career here.


This role supports the NPD Buyer and concentrates on buying Gifts from suppliers in the Far East.  It will be your remit to develop and strengthen these existing relationships and to source a wider supplier base.  You work with the suppliers from initial concept through to final production – sample development, component sourcing, technical testing, artwork and purchase order processing.  It’s all in your domain!


You must have experience of sourcing from China and at least 2 years FMCG buying experience – ideally Gifting.  You will have experience of New Product Development and be used to working with an ERP system.


As a person you will be a confident communicator, ambitious, super organised, creative and analytical and be able to bring an enthusiasm to the team.


The role splits into 6 sections/responsibilities.  These are:



Being a key support to the Senior Buyer.

Building effective relationships with colleagues, suppliers and directors

Liaison with factories

Representing the business at Trade shows


Product Development:

Assist with new product development

Research and maintain awareness of Health and Beauty market – trends, products, ranges

Competitive shopping and monitoring of market changes

Work with design team on new products

Assist with design briefs and mood boards and artwork



Arrange and co-ordinate samples with factories

Co-ordinate delivery of all components for samples

Collate product detail information

Samples for trade shows and sales team


Pricing Negotiations

Request and collate prices and quotations

Provide the information and specifications to achieve accurate quotations



Assist with all proofing of artwork from sample to final

Set up New Lines on in house systems

Produce detailed assembly instructions for construction of each line



Approve goods for shipping to UK and International customers

Liaise with Freight partners to ensure goods are on track

Co-ordinate and schedule deliveries of components and manage this process

Ensure all deliveries leave as scheduled with correct paper work

Liaise with Sales Team for stock availability
